There are a lot of options these days for clients when it comes to purchasing medications, food, and other health items for their pets. So how do you cut through the noise and get clients to shop your online pharmacy? We’ve got some tips and free resources for busy veterinary practices.
Make sure clients know you have an online pharmacy
It’s not enough to just have online shopping — if clients don’t know about it or can’t easily find the link, they won’t be able to shop.
Tips to spread the word
-
- Make sure the link to your online store is easy to find on your website. Add it to the navigation bar, place a button in the header, and include it as an action button on your Facebook page.
- Take advantage of email lists and social media by linking to your store, sharing special promotions, or highlighting seasonal preventatives.
- Posters, flyers, and brochures are a great way to reach clients while they wait in the lobby or exam room — especially if you add a QR code so they can conveniently open the link in their phone.
When you’re a Vetsource Prescription Management customer, you have access to a Practice Toolkit that offers many resources, including free marketing tools for promoting your online pharmacy like pre-written announcements and social posts, professionally designed images, how-to’s for adding links on your website or Facebook, and downloadable templates for promotions. You can also order posters, brochures, and other items to display in your practice. Find the link in your Practice Home help menu.
Create connections with videos
It’s no secret that videos drive the internet these days, from YouTube to TikTok and more. For busy clients, it’s all too easy to misplace pieces of paper with instructions or forget to purchase their pet’s recommended treatment in-person or through your online pharmacy. Videos can feel more engaging or interesting than print or a webpage. They’re also a great way to offer information in more than one format, so clients can get what they need.
With a little creative know-how, you can use a mobile phone and a video editing tool like CapCut to quickly edit videos to post on your social media channels. Pet owners love to get behind-the-scenes glimpses or see their pet in the spotlight, so don’t be afraid to mix up different kinds of content. You can also send videos directly to your clients to educate them on a variety of topics, from what to expect after their pet has surgery to the importance of regular dental checkups.
Client engagement videos, made easy
If creating videos yourself seems daunting, the good news is that you don’t have to do it yourself! Vetsource has partnered with Veteos On-Demand to bring Prescription Management customers 10 free short, informational videos on a variety of topics — including the benefits of shopping through your online pharmacy.
Use the videos on lobby loops, add to your website, or share on social media or in emails to clients.
To take advantage of the free Veteos On-Demand videos and other resources mentioned here, visit your Practice Toolkit or talk to your account manager.
