Hill’s® Pet Nutrition Voluntarily Recalls Canned Dog Food

On Jan. 31, 2019, Hill’s Pet Nutrition announced a voluntarily recall of select canned dog food products due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D.

UPDATE: The recall was expanded on March 20, 2019 to include additional products. Read the official Hill’s announcement and a see a list of the affected food.

Pets who have consumed these products may experience the following symptoms:

  • vomiting
  • increased thirst
  • increased urination
  • excessive drooling
  • weight loss
  • renal dysfunction (if consumed at high levels)

If your pet has consumed any of the affected products, please contact your veterinarian immediately. Please note that pets are expected to undergo a full recovery with discontinued feeding. No dry foods, cat food, or treats were affected.
