How many emails are sent per week to my clients?

The maximum number of emails sent in any week as part of PetMail+ is 3, but typically only 2 are sent. It depends on the type of email the client is set to receive. Our targeted approach ensures that your clients receive only the most valuable, relevant content without feeling overwhelmed.

How frequent are the emails?

When you activate PetMail+, you will automatically be set to send emails to your clients on a weekly basis. This recommended setting maximizes client engagement and helps drive nearly 3x more online revenue. Once PetMail+ is turned on, you can adjust your frequency settings to every two weeks, if desired.

Will this be too many emails for my clients? I don't want to overwhelm them.

Pet owners can unsubscribe from these emails as desired. Vetsource sends over 12 million pet owner emails weekly with a low 0.09% unsubscribe rate, demonstrating that clients appreciate and engage with these communications. Additionally, other online pet retailers send an average of 2-3 emails a week, ensuring that our frequency aligns with industry standards.

How can we prevent our clients from receiving PetMail+ emails while we're running our own marketing campaigns?

You can easily pause PetMail+ for up to 90 days from within your Practice Home settings. Please note that changes can take up to two weeks to take effect, so plan ahead. This feature allows you to manage your marketing efforts seamlessly.

What if we don't want to sell certain products in our online store?

If you have customized your product catalog to remove certain items or brands, they will never be included in your PetMail+ emails. Our intelligent email marketing system will only show images and highlight products that are already available in your online store, so all promotions are relevant to your offerings, maintaining client trust and satisfaction.

How quickly will my clients start receiving emails?

Once you’ve submitted the PetMail+ form, our team will verify everything and set up the system for you. This process typically takes 2 business days; you’ll receive an email notification once the service is fully activated. The first PetMail+ email is typically sent to clients within 2 weeks. So you can start driving engagement and revenue almost immediately.

What if I don't have PIMS integration set up?

If you’ve chosen not to integrate your PIMS data with your Vetsource Prescription Management program or are using unsupported software, clients who have previously purchased through your Vetsource home delivery service will still receive special offer emails, welcome emails, convenience and loyalty emails, and re-engagement emails. 

However, we highly recommend integration, as practices with PIMS integration see significantly better results—$1,220 per month in practice profit compared to $500 per month without integration.

How is the type of email sent to the client determined?

The email hierarchy ensures that new clients receive the welcome series first, followed by milestone emails like birthdays and anniversaries. If these criteria are not met, clients receive compliance emails, then re-engagement emails if applicable. If none of these criteria apply, clients receive a standard promotional email for the week. This hierarchy maximizes engagement and ensures no opportunity is missed.

Additionally, second chance emails are sent on Fridays for those clients who did not engage with Tuesday’s email. On average, these highly effective second-chance sends account for 40% of weekly revenue.
